Morning Message and Storytime #1!
Here is a picture of the nest that Mackenzie has been watching. Look how high and how big it is!
STEM Challenge:
Task: Design a bird’s nest!• Talk about what would make a good nest for a bird
• Gather materials and make your nest (you can use items from nature or from your recycling bin, or both!)
• Test your nest’s strength by putting a hard boiled egg, wooden egg or a plastic egg filled with coins (for weight) on the nest. Can your nest hold up an egg? How many eggs can it hold?
• Is there anything you could change to make the nest even stronger?
Extension: Draw your nest. Label the materials you used on your drawing or make a list of the materials you used somewhere on the paper. Please send me your drawing and a picture of your nest!
