Green Shirt Day!

On April 6, 2018, Canadians were heartbroken to hear the news of the Humboldt Broncos bus crash. Of the 29 passengers, sixteen lost their lives and thirteen will all bear physical and emotional scars for life.

For Parents:  We wear GREEN to remember those involved in the crash but also to acknowledge the importance of organ donation.  On April 7, 2018, Humboldt Broncos defenceman Logan Boulet succumbed to his injuries. His parents, Bernadine and Toby Boulet offered to donate his organs so that six lives could live on. They did so because Logan told his parents he was registering as an organ donor and that he was inspired by his coach and mentor Ric Suggitt. Ric passed on June 27th, 2017 and was also an organ donor and saved 6 lives.

Send me a picture of you wearing green!

Experimenting with Peeps:  Today we are doing a science experiment together.  Can you predict what is going to happen to the peeps in the 4 different liquids?  Will the same thing happen in each liquid?  Here is a picture to remind you of what our experiment looks like:

Jar #1:  Vinegar
Jar #2:  Hot water
Jar #3:  Coke
Jar #4:  Cold Water

Word Work:  Rainbow Read and Write.  You can write all 3 words with every roll or alternate words for each roll.

Here is a link for an online dice tool if you don't have dice at home:

https://www.random.org/dice/?num=1.  To change the number of dice rolled, click on "games" at the top and then "dice roller".  We will be using dice in our word work as well as math games, so keep this link handy!

We have a guest reader today.  She works in our school in fact, she shot this video from her office.  Can you guess who it is???

Have a great day!!!

Love,

Ms. O.
