Earth Day Challenge:

Today (and everyday going forward) when you are brushing your teeth, make sure you turn off the water while you are brushing!!!  

Science:  

Magic Milk Experiment:  Supplies needed:  a small bowl or round cake pan, milk (enough to cover the bottom of the bowl), dish soap, q-tips, food coloring.





Art: 

 I absolutely love this idea of "Mailing a Hug". I know it requires a long piece of paper which not all of us have at home.  Think of using the backside of wrapping paper or tape some regular pieces of paper together.  This isn't something you HAVE to do.  I just thought I would share the idea!



Here's another fun idea for all of the cardboard in your recycling bin!!!

Math:  


I'm not going to give you a new math game to play today but would like to encourage you to play the games we have already learned ... kindergarten Yahtzee, Race to Fill (or empty) the cup and Mystery Number.  

Storytime!  


We have another guest reader today!  I'll give you some hints.  She works in our school.  She used to teach at our school but has a different job now.  She wears glasses, has dark brown hair AND her favorite color is purple.  Can you guess who it is???

What a crazy, cold week it has been!  It has been/is very chilly in our classroom and school.  As well as ensuring that your child is dressed for being outside, please send him/her in a hoodie or sweater for the time inside the school.  Thank you!!!! Our class has been quite small this week as we have been missing between 5 and 10 students each day!  I don't blame you ... if I wasn't a teacher, I would be at home with my children as well!  Although the school is open, it is your decision whether you feel comfortable sending your child in such extreme cold.  Please let the office know (or send me a quick email) letting us know if your child will be absent.  A reminder that, on blue days, students come into the school as soon as they arrive.  Upon dismissal, please feel free to come to our back door and come in while we are getting ready.  A few extra hands at dismissal on days like these would be welcome! Good morning friends! Sorry about the mix-up with the story yesterday.  I would like to say that it won't happen again, but it might!  Maybe I was just testing you to see who is checking out the blog! Calendar and letter Ee printing.  Can you practice printing both capital and lower case Ee's.  Because E is a vowel, it is tricky teaching it's sounds online.  I will go over the sounds in my video however instead of drawing and printing words that start with "E" encourage your child to find words around the house that have the "E" in them. Estimation Results: Guided Drawing Easter Bunny:  You will need a piece of paper (the bigger the better) and something to draw with.
